Stryper Is Still Rockin Their Message Michael Sweet Interview

0

Get a feel for the band as Michael Sweet talks about Stryper. In this interview Michael mentions how he and his whole family came to the Lord by watching Jimmy Swaggart on TV. That suggests the power of media and how it can influence the family. Fortunately it was a good influence for Michael, his parents and siblings but there is much more secular programming out there to influence families in the other direction so be careful what you allow into your home. Michael had the TV influence his family but there are countless other avenues into our homes. Avenues like music, books, mags, games, video games, internet etc. canĀ  be used to pull us in a certain direction. Check out the lyrics to the song “Big Screen Lies-by Stryper” They touch upon what can happen on the big screen and how it lies to us. Here you go:

Big Screen Lies-by Stryper

You’ve got to love how they portray Christianity
Just a freak another fool for the world to see
Twisting and distorting all, making money too
Mocking every thing that’s said, they don’t have a clue – no!

[Chorus:]
Big screen lies, it’s no surprise
I’m getting wise, to the big screen lies

It’s the way it’s always been, persecuting rules
As the wolfs lie in their den, sharpening their tools
Feasting on the faith of those, who dare to make it known
As a warning to the foes, you’ll reap what you’ve sown – oh yeah!

[Chorus:]
Big screen lies, it’s no surprise
I’m getting wise, to the big screen lies

[Chorus:]
Big screen lies, it’s no surprise
I’m getting wise, to the big screen lies
Big screen lies, it’s no surprise
I’m getting wise, to the big screen lies

Here is the interview with Michael Sweet of Stryper
